A little nostalgic, a little unexpected, and full of charm. Kewpie Doll Still Life brings together an old-fashioned Cupid doll, a cute ceramic booty with bow, and a bouquet of richly colored flowers in a quiet arrangement thats a collection of treasures gathered over time by me.
I love the contrast between the sweet, playful little doll and the moodier colors and shadows surrounding it. It gives the painting that familiar feeling of finding something tucked away from another time—sentimental, slightly quirky, and wonderfully nostalgic.
Painted in oil on canvas and finished in a hand-built pine floating frame, ready to hang.
